"Fat acceptance doesn’t simply advocate in favor of fatness. Fat acceptance is also about rejecting a culture that encourages us to rage and lash out at our bodies, even to hate them, for looking a certain way. It’s about setting our own boundaries and knowing ourselves, and making smart decisions about how we live and treat ourselves, and ferociously defending the privacy of those choices. It’s about promoting the idea that anything you do with your body should come from a place of self-care and self-love, not from guilt and judgment and punishment. It’s about demanding that all bodies, no matter their appearance or age or ability, be treated with basic human respect and dignity. That’s the world I’d like to build. For all of us."

I ran across this photo earlier this week on Pinterest, and I felt like I had to share. We don’t often see images of mature women in our culture, much less mature women in lingerie. It really is a disservice. After all, should women stop feeling good about themselves once they’re past the age of 30?

fierce.

Me :)

salty-eggs:

This is my first time submitting on here - feeling a little nervous - but positive at the same time!

I’m currently in ED recovery and have really been struggling to accept my womanly shape.

But, this blog has REALLY helped me so much - thank you for that!

For anyone else who is in recovery, I can’t recommend this blog highly enough :)

If you ever need to talk, I’m a good listener, so just ask.

I’m also an artist / illustrator & did a series of work when I was struggling with anorexia, called “Goldilocks - Minus the Porridge.”

You can find that, along with other work,  here :)

Keep on keeping on xx

This is one of my favorite pictures, the shirt says it all “When I Grow Up I want to be Just Like Me”.  I wish more people would feel that way instead of copying others. Killing your creativity is basically killing off your own individuality. Be proud of who you are and if you don’t like it, change but make sure your making the change for yourself and not for others.

Meet Nadia Aboulhosn, she is a force to be reckoned with.  I just had to do a blog on her because I feel she brings such a positive vibe with what she does and she has a lot of originality to offer the world.  She is not just a pretty face; but she also offers substance and intellect in her conversations (a rare find, these days).

Please check out her blog, I promise you will not be disappointed. :)
